Welcome to our class blog! We are an enthusiastic group of new entrant learners at May Road School in Auckland, New Zealand. We love sharing our learning and we especially love it when people leave comments!
Our school earned over 8,000 Sunshines as part of the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) programme. As a reward, we had a Games Day on the last day of term. We played Stuck in the Mud with our awesome buddy class, then went and joined the rest of Puriri team on the field for even more fun!
Our caretaker, Brian, doesn't just look after our school. Here he is helping us plant seeds so we can have delicious autumn and winter vegetables. We planted silverbeet, carrots, broccoli, spinach and parsnips. Once they grow into seedlings, we'll transfer them to the garden that we share with our buddy class. Maybe we can make some soup to share.
Today we hosted school assembly with our buddy class Room 13. We shared a movie Kevin helped us put together about the caterpillars and butterflies in our classroom.
Here's what the children thought of their experience:
On the stage I was sitting quietly and
folding my arms and legs. (Fatafehi)
I liked it when we were running around and
around and around. (Molly)
I was laughing when we were running around. (Arsalaan)
I was singing Purerehua. (Joseph)
The movie was funny. (Francis)
I wanted the microphone. (Jacob)
I liked when the butterfly was on my tummy. (Meshae)
I was singing and I was folding my arms
like Joseph. I was speaking on the
microphone. (Ehmarze)
